Bhubaneswar: Ayurvedic treatments and medication is an ancient phenomenon which has been continuing since our mythological period. It is part of our rich culture. As Odisha as a state covered with varieties of flora and fauna is suitable for many Ayurvedic medicines and resources for it. Therefore the government of Odisha is constantly taking measures to encourage the usage of Ayurvedic medicines along with the Odisha State Medical Plant Board (SMPB).
The Ayurvedic medicines have least side effects and cost friendly as well. People must be aware about the benefits of it and get leaned towards Ayurvedic treatments.
The17 th Kalinga Herbal Fair ha has been organized by the government of Odisha ,the State Medical Plants Board at IDCO exhibition ground from 6 to 12 November. The exhibition was inaugurated by the Forest, Environment and Climate Change Minister Ganesh Ram Singh Khuntia along with the other dignitaries like Satyabrata Sahu, Additional Chief Secretary, Home, Forest, Environment & Climate Change, Revenue & Disaster Management and Devidatta Biswal, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests and Head of The Forest Force .
While inaugurating the fair the minister stated that as Ayurvedic medicines have no negative impacts on body it should be opted to be used by the people in more often. He further adds, this Ayurvedic fair is an excellent platform to spread awareness among the people to make Ayurvedic medicine more favorable.
Satyabrata Sahu, the additional chief of HFE & CC said that this initiative can benefit the farmers, self-help groups, van suraksha samitis and other social organisations by focusing on increasing production along with cultivation of medicinal plants. The State Government has provided all kinds of facilities and arrangements for concessions to flourish this industry.
Odisha has an ample amount of green resources that are varied and highly useful to enhance the Ayurvedic medicines. This fair is giving a potential platform to the Vaidyas, doctors, farmers, government and non-governmental organisations, pharmaceutical companies to uplift the industry and make it a successful, likable, and popular amongst the people.
Various kinds of programs with regard to discussions related to various diseases, students’ meet, senior citizens meet, free health check-ups, Vaidya workshops and various types of medical methods like Ayurveda, Panchakarma, Yoga and Naturopathy treatment and homeopathy treatment have been arranged in this fair. The fair is open to the general public from 11 am to 9 pm every day from 6-12 November.
There are a total number of 130 stalls and more than 260 participants from various nook and corner of the state and outside also are participating in this fair.
