Migratory Birds Arrive in Chilika Prior to Winter

Bhubaneswar: Prior to the arrival of winter, birds from various breeds have started to come to Chilika, the largest waterbird habitat in India.  Migratory birds like ducks, flamingos, ibises, Eurasian Wigeon and many more are beginning to settle in Chilika during the winter season.

These birds come from different regions of remote Russia, the Caspian region, Siberia, and also the regions beyond the Himalayas in Northern Eurasia. Every year these birds come to Chilika right before the winter and return back to their respective home before summer.

The arrival of these lovely colorful birds have cheered up the bird lovers. This time these birds have come to Chilika a bit early compared to the previous times. This might be the sign of an early arrival of the winter season in India as well as Odisha.
