Bhubaneswar: Odisha hosts the 5th EMRS National Culture and Literary Festival and Kala Utsav , UDBHAB, in the capital city Bhubaneswar from 12- 15 November. The colorful and grand festival will be held on the purpose to celebrate the art and zeal.of learning new skills, arts, among the tribal students.
This festival is organized by the Odisha Department of STSC Development & Minorities and Backward Classes Welfare, sponsored by the National Educational Society for Tribal Students (NESTS). There will be more than 1,300 students and 250 teachers invited from Ekalavya Model Residential Schools (EMRS) to this program from 22 different states.
The festival, to be held at Sikhya O Anusandhan University in commemoration of the 150th birth anniversary of tribal leader Bhagwan Birsa Munda. The program will be inaugurated by the Minister of Tribal Affairs Jual Oram, along with Minister of State for Tribal Affairs Durgadas Uikey and STSC Development Minister Nityananda Gond.
The cultural vigorousness will be showcased by special cultural programs conducted every evening by different renowned artists of Odisha. There will be total 47 competition categories including storytelling, music, dance, singing, debate and elocution. Moreover, many different arrangements of workshops on developing new innovative skills and creativity will present better opportunity for the students to evolve new skills.
The other merry making activities for entertainment and relaxation for the children are fun zones, foods, meals incorporating both Odia and pan-Indian palates will be available at the festival venue.
Previously this festival was held in Dehradun (2023), Bengaluru (2022), Udaipur (2019) and Jamshedpur (2018) and this year Odisha has taken the chance of organizing this distinct platform for young learners to showcase their talent, celebrate culture, art, diversity of our nation and rear camaraderie.
