Bhubaneswar: It is officially communicated by the BCCI that Indian cricket team will not be going to Pakistan for the Campions Trophy which is going to be conducted in 2025. Government of India has refused to permit Indian Cricket Team to visit Pakistan due to security reasons. The ICC has sent an official mail to the PCB that India has declined to travel Pakistan for the tournament.
The Champions Trophy might be held in South Africa if Pakistan does not agree for the Hybrid Model for which India has proposed that the matches with Indian teams would be conducted in UAE, Dubai. if Pakistan drops itself from hosting the Champions Trophy the entire tournament could considerably be shifted to South Africa.
India has not visited Pakistan to play after 2008, while both nations cricket matches between each other have been taken place only at ICC tournaments.
This major development as India not willing to visit Pakistan is a major set back for the Pakistan government, their media and also common people. Pakistan was going to host such a big cricket event after a very long gap, and would have helped PCB grow from various aspects if India was played Champions Trophy in Pakistan.
Champions Trophy is an ICC event, it is being funded by ICC. the tournament is scheduled to be held in February.
