Bhubaneswar: Following the death of two tribal women from Kandhamal after eating mango kernel chief minister Mohan Charan Majhi has passed an order to provide 15 kg rice to each woman the prior to three months. Reportedly, there are two deaths and six women admitted to hospital in serious condition by eating mango kernel gruel has put the BJP led Mohan government in Odisha on spot.
The opposition leader Navin Patnaik has attacked the government based on scarcity of food grains and irregularities in food grain distribution by the Food Supply and PDS. The opposition has put the responsibility of the death of the two women and several falling seriously ill on the ruling party completely during a press conference.
The process of distributing food grains ( rice) to the beneficiaries have started from 1 October but there are 40 lakh families have not got ration as yet. CM of Odisha has directed to supply rice to these families as soon as possible.
CM Majhi has ordered to conduct a detailed probe on the death of the two women. Meanwhile, both the opposition parties have demanded a fair inquiry on the mango kernel matter.
The opposition claimed because the PDS was complete collapse, the women had no choice but to consume the mango kernel gruel. As a result it took their lives. The BJP government us solely responsible for not being able to provide ration to the people that led to severe health hazards.
