Greater Bhubaneswar Region to be in Action for a Developed Odisha

Bhubaneswar: The plan for the extension of the capital city of Odisha, Bhubaneswar has taken a full swing. The area including Jatani in the South, Krurdha in the west, and Pipili in the east is going to be developed and called Greater Bhubaneswar. A full fledged plan of action is being prepared by the state government that the locations where there would be government offices, parks, roads, housings etc in the new extended Bhubaneswar. BDA has been working on it for five years by preparing CDP for this project. In March, the final CDP list will be published thereafter there will be other necessary changes after a proper public review. Then it will be in action to make Bhubaneswar developed like Hyderabad, as per the state government reports. 

Capital of Odisha will be fully connected with ring roads, broad flyovers and well connected. The city will be well managed in terms of traffic no matter how much the population increases. The government has made an estimation of a 13 thousand crores investment plan to convert Bhubaneswar into a planned, and well regulated, developed city. 

The current budget at the center has allocated a big budget for Bhubaneswar. According to the government, Bhubaneswar will be one of the prominent cities in eastern India and become a business hub by 2036. There will be more capital investments in the state. The government will develop infrastructure for that. The land has already been acquired for this. In the first phase, total 322 hectare land will be developed, later for the incorporation of education, industry, health, science, research information and technology etc the area would expand up to 3600 hectare of land. 

The Chief Minister has stated that there is a need of thinking ahead of time, at least ahead 50 years. The Greater Bhubaneswar Region is necessary for both urbanisation and economic growth of the state. Considering the city’s growing population, the initiation of metro railway services in Bhubaneswar has been undergoing. The greater Bhubaneswar is going to be accommodating an estimated population of around 40 lakhs. The main airport of the greater Bhubaneswar would be a proposed international airport in Puri and the industrial establishment, chemical and petrochemical region in Paradeep would be the major economic hub for this newly extended Bhubaneswar, as per the sources.
