Bhubaneswar: It has been notified by the Odisha Health & Family Welfare Department on Tuesday that the dwellers in Bhubaneswar who have been vaccinated with both the doses of covishield covid-19 vaccine are eligible to take the Precaution Dose in the capital city. As per the information those who are eligible can get themselves inoculated with the Covishield precaution doses at these two centres named; Urban Primary Health Centre (UPHC), Unit 9 and Chandrasekharpur UPHC. These Precaution Doses will first be available for various Front line Workers and Senior Citizens within the time slot of 10 am to 1 pm and 3 pm to 6 pm, as mentioned by the health department. The slots for the vaccination can be booked in the regular process through the Cowin portal or the eligible people can walk in directly to the centre and get the precaution vaccine done there itself. the eligible beneficiaries are required to produce their two doses of Covishield vaccination certificate intended to confirm the 9-month gap between the previous doses. So they need to carry the fully-vaccinated certificate along with them while coming for this precaution dose. In Odisha, the booster or precaution doses of the Covid-19 vaccine was started being administered to the health and frontline workers, and the people with co- comorbidities and above the age of 60 and more from January 10, 2022. Bijay Panigrahi, the State director of health and family welfare, had said that more than 17.52 lakh people are currently eligible to receive the precautionary dose in Odisha.
