Bhadrak and Balasore Waterlogged in Heavy Rain Triggered by Dana

Bhubaneswar: Post the wrath of cyclone Dana, Balasore district has got a very heavy downpour continuously. due to the strong trigger of Dana the heavy rain has caused a flood like situation in Balasore. there has been a sudden flood in the Son river and many villages and localities are affected by this. many villages in the Nilagiri block are disconnected from the main township in the district. villages are left cut off , people are suffering with no a basic facilities and movements. more than thousand families are stuck amid the flood water in the Badia village in Balasore district.

Road connectivities are disrupted as the roads are washed away in the heavy rain in the region. villages like Totapada, Sansapala, Dobati, Narasinghpur, Domakandara, have been severely affected by the rain as well as flood.

Budhabalanda river is in the spate of flowing above the warning signal, though it is not crossing the danger lever as yet, as per the Water Resource Department. Remuna and Balasore Sadar blocks may get impacted by this flood water.

Due to the cyclone Dana, the heavy rain fall in Bhadrak has caused a spate in the river Kapil and Reva that are flowing over the danger mark. the water is flowing three feet above the Aradi-Bhadrak main road causing a disruption of road connectivity. many other areas situated at lower levels are water logged damaging the freshly cropped agriculture and vegetations.
