Odisha CM Launches ‘Ghare Ghare Tiranga’ Campaign, Urges Gen-Z to Stay Alert Against Digital Threats

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Monday launched the ‘Ghare Ghare Tiranga’ campaign in Bhubaneswar, calling upon people across the state to hoist the national flag at their homes from August 9 to 17 as part of the Independence Day celebrations.

Launching the campaign, Majhi described the Tiranga as a symbol of India’s identity, unity and aspirations, and urged citizens to participate in the initiative with a sense of pride and responsibility.

The Chief Minister explained the significance of the national flag, highlighting the symbolism associated with its three colours and the Ashoka Chakra at its centre.

CM’s message to Gen-Z

Majhi made a special appeal to young people, particularly Gen-Z, urging them to remain vigilant against emerging challenges in the digital age.

He cautioned the younger generation about the potential misuse of social media, digital platforms and online spaces, while also urging them to stay away from drugs and other harmful influences.

The Chief Minister called upon young people to channel their energy towards constructive activities and national development, stressing the importance of patriotism and responsible citizenship.

Odisha’s role in ‘Viksit Bharat’

Majhi also highlighted Odisha’s role in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Viksit Bharat – 2047’ vision, saying the state and its people have an important role to play in India’s journey towards becoming a developed nation.

He urged citizens, especially the youth, to contribute actively to the country’s progress and help build a stronger and more prosperous India.

Appeal for eco-friendly celebrations

The Chief Minister also appealed to citizens to use cloth national flags instead of plastic flags during the campaign.

The move, he said, would help ensure that the celebrations remain environmentally responsible while preserving the dignity of the national flag.

The ‘Ghare Ghare Tiranga’ campaign is aimed at encouraging wider public participation in Independence Day celebrations and strengthening the connection between citizens and the national flag.

With the campaign running from August 9 to 17, the Odisha government is encouraging households across the state to display the Tiranga and celebrate the spirit of independence, unity and national pride.
