Cuttack: Divyang (Persons with disabilities) and their care takers coming to Swami Vivekananda National Institute of Rehabilitation Training and Research (SVNIRTAR) will no longer be required to stand in long queues to obtain outpatient department (OPD) tickets as authorities of SVNIRTAR have started online registration system (ORS) under e-Hospital programme from 29th March’17.
The programme technically designed by National Informatics Centre(NIC) was inaugurated by Director, SVNIRTAR Shakti Prasad Das in the seminar hall of the administrative complex in the presence of Director, NIC PK Pramanik, NIC Technical Director Nirupama Mahapatra, Head of the Medical Wing PK Sahoo and all the Heads of the Departments, doctors and staffs of SVNITAR.
To avail the online facilities a patient can register and book an OPD ticket from his mobile phone either by downloading mobile app ORS from the Play Store or by logging to the website www.ors.gov.in.
To provide information about confirmation regarding the booking process in ORS, a text message alert will be sent after a patient registers himself at the site, said NIC’s Nodal Officer Dillip Mohanty.
A printout of the registration ticket will be issued to the patients when they produce the code sent to their mobile phones through a text message, Mr.Mohanty informed.
Introduction of ORS for easy accessibility of towards service for persons with disabilities and their caretakers is the first step towards implementation of e-hospital Project in SVNIRTAR, said Director SP Das.
He also said that the ORS would be beneficial in respect of saving time for patients particularly coming from outside of Cuttack and Bhubaneswar.
While around 200 patients come to OPD of SVNIRTAR daily, the implementation of ORS will relieve them from standing on a long queues for long time, Dr.Das added urging patients to avail the maximum benefit of the programme.
