Second Phase Subhadra Yojana Beneficiaries to be Credited money on October 9

Bhubaneswar: Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida stated on Sunday, 29 September that the government of Odisha will be releasing the first phase or installment money (5,000) to more than 40 lakh beneficiaries  under the scheme of Subhadra Yojana on October 9.

The most awaited scheme was inaugurated by the prime minister in Odisha on 17 September. Then in the first phase about 25. 11 lakh beneficiaries had got a direct transfer of 5,000 rupees to their bank account.

This installment will be released by the chief minister of Odisha Mohan Charan Majhi in the presence of the other dignitaries in the Mayurbhanj district on account of Durga Puja festival on October 9.

There are around 96 lakh women have registered for the scheme till now and as per the documentation procedure , the deputy chief minister said that those who have applied on or before October 7 will be eligible for the scheme.

Mayurbhanj district keeps a special place for itself in this Subhadra Yojana scheme as the district has set an example for leading a path for women’s empowerment in the state and considering our honorable President Mrs Draupati Murmu hails from this place. It is a significant culture that the chariot of Goddess Subhadra is pulled by the only women devotees in Baripada during the time of Rath Yatra. The name of the scheme is Subhadra Yojana in the name of the sister of Lord Jagannath and Balabhadra.

All the beneficiaries under the scheme will be getting 50 thousand rupees in the span of five years time. Each year every woman will get 10 thousand rupees in two different installments , that is 5, 000 in every six months. The scheme is supposed to cover about 1 crore women as beneficiaries.
