Bhubaneswar: The Orissa High Court has passed order to bann firecrackers during the celebration of Ravan Dahan in Dasehhera in order to promote an eco friendly Durga Puja in the state.
This year’s Durga Puja and Ravan Dahan celebration would be in transformed mode in both Cuttack and Bhubaneswar by using eco friendly colour crackers instead of the polluting and noisy traditional firecrackers. By taking such a step the High Court has made a conscious effort to reduce the escalating impact the environment gets through these festivities by human entertainment as well as religious traditions.
The court has issued notice to the Cuttack Municipal Corporation to prepare the Bali Jatra ground in advance from October 10, so that the event is executed uncomplicated. By following the court’s instructions the Cuttack Deputy Commissioner has deputed the force to maintain the traffic and congestion effectively prioritizing the public safety.
