Odisha Marks Birth Anniversary of Former Chief Minister Janaki Ballav Patnaik with Grand Celebrations

Bhubaneswar: The birth anniversary of former Odisha Chief Minister Janaki Ballav Patnaik is being commemorated with grandeur on January 3 at Unit-III Capital High School in Bhubaneswar. The event has drawn wide participation from national and state-level political leaders, dignitaries, and eminent personalities from various fields.

Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, Leader of the Opposition Naveen Patnaik, senior Congress leader Narasingha Mishra, and several other prominent political figures are attending the programme. National leaders including M. Birappa Mauli, G. Raja, and Saroj Pala are also present, reflecting the broad political respect commanded by the late leader. In addition, noted actors, intellectuals, and well-known personalities from diverse domains have joined the celebrations.

Janaki Ballav Patnaik, who served Odisha as Chief Minister during two crucial phases, is remembered for his significant contribution to the state’s socio-economic and industrial development. Speakers at the event highlighted his vision, administrative acumen, and enduring role in steering Odisha on a path of progress and modernization.

As part of the commemoration, a special video presentation showcasing key moments from Patnaik’s life and political journey was screened. Book launch activities and commemorative discussions were also organised to honour his legacy and lasting impact on the state.

The celebrations are not limited to the capital alone. A series of programmes, including public meetings, cultural events, and memorial lectures, are scheduled to be held across various parts of Odisha throughout the month to mark the birth anniversary of the former Chief Minister and to pay tribute to his immense contribution to the state.
