MeitY Pushes National AI Literacy Ahead of AI Impact Summit Bharat 2026 with ‘YUVA AI for All’

Bhubaneswar: As India prepares to host the AI Impact Summit Bharat 2026, the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) has stepped up efforts to promote nationwide artificial intelligence literacy through the “YUVA AI for All” programme.

Launched under the IndiaAI Mission, the initiative aims to bridge the digital divide by equipping over one crore (10 million) citizens, primarily students and youth, with foundational AI knowledge. The programme is positioned as a key pillar of India’s strategy to ensure inclusive and responsible adoption of emerging technologies.

Democratizing AI Education

The YUVA AI for All programme is designed as a beginner-friendly, self-paced digital course, focusing on real-life Indian use cases rather than technical specialisation. Officials said the objective is to make AI concepts accessible to a broad audience, including first-time learners.

Key features include:

  • Free access for all learners

  • A 4.5-hour curriculum divided into six concise modules

  • Government of India certification upon completion

  • Availability on platforms such as FutureSkills Prime and iGOT Karmayogi

Aligned with AI Impact Summit 2026

The initiative aligns with the theme of the upcoming AI Impact Summit Bharat 2026, scheduled for mid-February at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi. The summit will be the first global AI forum hosted in the Global South, focusing on ethical, inclusive, and development-oriented AI frameworks.

Reflecting the programme’s guiding philosophy of “Sarvajana Hitaya, Sarvajana Sukhaya” (Welfare for All, Happiness for All), officials said the course is intended to empower youth to become informed participants in the AI ecosystem rather than passive consumers.

“AI is not just a technological advancement; it is a strategic tool to enable inclusive growth,” the summit framework notes, highlighting the role of AI literacy in responsible innovation.

Curriculum Focus

The course introduces learners to:

  • Fundamental AI concepts and how AI systems function

  • AI’s impact on education, creativity, and employment

  • Ethics, safety, and responsible use of AI tools

  • Emerging career opportunities in an AI-driven economy
