India Dominate Final to Win Record Sixth ICC Under-19 World Cup

Bhubaneswar: India stamped their authority on world youth cricket once again, clinching a record-extending sixth ICC Under-19 World Cup title with a thumping 100-run victory over England U19 in the final at the Harare Sports Club on February 6, 2026.

In a final that quickly turned one-sided, India produced a batting masterclass to post a colossal 411/9, the highest-ever team total in an Under-19 World Cup final, after winning the toss and electing to bat.

The innings was headlined by a breathtaking knock from Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who smashed a blistering 175 off just 80 balls, redefining dominance on the biggest stage. His innings, laced with 15 fours and 15 sixes, was the highest individual score in a U-19 World Cup final and a stunning display of fearless stroke play and power-hitting.

Suryavanshi’s assault dismantled England’s bowling attack and laid a formidable foundation for India’s towering total, leaving the opposition chasing a near-impossible target in a high-pressure final.

In reply, England U19 showed resilience and character, with Caleb Falconer leading the fightback through a valiant 115-run knock. Despite moments of resistance, England struggled to keep pace with the required run rate and eventually folded for 311, falling well short of the target.

India’s bowlers maintained discipline and composure, ensuring that England never seriously threatened the massive total, sealing one of the most decisive victories in Under-19 World Cup final history.

The emphatic win underlined India’s depth, talent and dominance in youth cricket, reinforcing the country’s reputation as a global powerhouse in developing future international stars. With this triumph, India not only extended their record tally of U-19 World Cup titles but also sent a strong message about the strength of their next generation.
