Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has announced early summer vacation for all schools across the state in view of the ongoing heatwave. All government, government-aided, and private schools will remain closed from April 27.
The decision was approved by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi following a proposal from the School and Mass Education Department. The move aims to safeguard students from extreme temperatures being experienced across Odisha.
Officials clarified that while regular classes will remain suspended, pre-scheduled examinations and essential administrative functions in schools will continue as planned.
The early closure reflects precautionary measures taken by the state government to minimise health risks, particularly for children, during the severe summer conditions.
