Kangana Ranaut Seeks Tax-Free Status for ‘Bharat Bhagya Vidhata’ During Bhubaneswar Visit

Bhubaneswar: Bollywood actress and BJP MP visited Bhubaneswar on Friday to attend the premiere screening of her latest film,, and appealed to the Odisha government to grant the movie tax-free status in the state.

The film is based on the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks and aims to highlight the courage, sacrifice and resilience displayed by security personnel and citizens during one of the most tragic incidents in India’s history. Addressing the audience at the special screening, Kangana said the film has been dedicated to the “Bhagya Vidhatas of Bharat” and expressed hope that a tax exemption would make it accessible to a larger audience.

The event was attended by Odisha Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Minister, and several other dignitaries from the state government and cultural circles.

Responding to Kangana’s request, Singh Deo said the state government would examine the proposal and hold discussions before taking a decision on granting tax-free status to the film.

During her visit, the actress also participated in the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ plantation campaign, a nationwide initiative promoting environmental conservation through tree planting. Kangana later shared photographs and moments from her Odisha visit on social media, describing the experience as meaningful and memorable.

The visit drew considerable attention from film enthusiasts and BJP supporters, with many gathering to catch a glimpse of the actress-politician during the premiere event. The state government’s decision on the film’s tax exemption request is expected after further deliberations.
