Bhubaneswar: Anna Malai, the high profile IPS turned politician of BJP has exited from the position of BJP state president post, as an alternative to a big alliance. The alliance between the BJP and the AIADMK. The mathematics of this alliance is quite evident but the puzzling factor remains the chemistry. The question arises about the impact it can put on the 2026 assembly elections. With this development there has been a big push in the southern part of the country by the Modi government. The old alliance restitched. Anna Malai , as reported, might be moved to the centre. It is to be seen whether this new strategy would be the game changer for the establishment of the BJP in the south.
While making this announcement of the alliance the Home minister, Amit Shah has said AIADMK has no condition or demand. There will be no interference of the BJP in the internal affairs of AIADMK. BJP and AIADMK will decide the forthcoming decisions regarding the parties in the NDA in Tamilnadu unit.
This step of BJP seems to be a strategic thinking rather than a tactical one just to win the assembly election. BJP may have better plans on the national front for Annamal as he has all the potential to become a strong, energetic and youthful leader, as expressed by the political analysts and BJP spokespersons. It is to be seen whether Annamalai is given a place in the government or appointed as national vice president of the party. Some other speculations indicate that he would be working for the upcoming assembly elections in Kerala.
At the same time it will be an important aspect to see whether this alliance provides the expected results both for the BJP and the AIADMK.
