Bhubaneswar: The Tokyo Olympics will take place from July 23 to August 8. As the Tokyo 2020 Olympics get underway on Friday, famous sand artist Sudarshan Pattnaik has joined the chorus of supporters cheering for India as a member of the Indian Olympic Fan Army, an effort by MPL Sports Foundation to equip the Indian Olympic squad with its fan organization. The award-winning artist, known for his larger-than-life sculptures on a range of topics, unveiled a sand piece today that aims to inspire everyone to cheer for our athletes as they strive for Olympic glory. On Puri beach, a sand sculpture portrays numerous Olympic disciplines and Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s rallying cry of #Cheer4India.

Over 31 million supporters from India’s major sports teams and clubs, including Kolkata Knight Riders, FC Goa, Gokulam Kerala FC, Ultimate Table Tennis, Real Kashmir FC, Shillong Lajong FC, and Cricket Fauj, already had joined the Indian Olympic Fan Army.
