Bhubaneswar: In a significant political breakthrough, Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) chief Chirag Paswan has emerged as one of the biggest winners of the Bihar Assembly election. Riding on strong public support and a renewed appeal among young voters, Chirag’s party has secured an impressive performance within the NDA camp.
In earlier interviews during the campaign, Chirag had stated that if the BJP found itself in a decisive position post-results, his party would “rightfully claim the Deputy Chief Minister’s post.” With the NDA sweeping to a dominant victory, political observers say Chirag is now positioned to push for a major share in governance.
However, despite the electoral surge, the Chief Minister’s chair remains out of reach for the young leader — at least for now. Alliance arithmetic and long-standing political equations suggest he may have to wait before staking claim to the top post in Bihar.
Insiders say that Chirag’s growing influence within the NDA, coupled with his party’s strong mandate, could translate into a prominent role in the new state cabinet, keeping him firmly in Bihar’s power circuit as the political landscape evolves.
