Bhubaneswar: The Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE) Odisha has announced a fresh exam schedule and evaluation patterns for the Plus-2 examinations 2024 to be held in February 2025 on 22 November. The CHSE notification states that the pass mark is set for each theory paper as 24 without any practical. A theory paper with an aggregate mark of 80 can be cleared by securing 24 in the written examination and another 20 marks will be evaluated through internal assessment.
The question patterns has also been altered as there will be 20 marks of Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ). Short questions will replace long questions, 7 mark questions will be asked in the place of 10 mark questions in the exams. These are the changes made by the Higher Secondary Education Council decided in the current year.
The marking patterns have been revised keeping the poor performance of students of average standards even after studying hard for the exams. The Controller of CHSE Prasant Parida expressed by highlighting the new pattern of exams and evaluation methods that this kind of change is made by the council for the first time with effect of the higher secondary students. It would support the average student for its student-centric approach and increase the average pass rate.
This step will help the average students and Whereas a total number of 3,91,809 students would be appearing the CHSE higher secondary exams this session.
