CM Mohan Charan Majhi Inaugurates Silver Jubilee Enterprise Odisha 2026, Announces ₹52,026 Crore Investment Push

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Wednesday inaugurated the Silver Jubilee (25th edition) of Enterprise Odisha 2026, marking a major thrust towards accelerated industrialisation in Western Odisha, which he described as the “core engine” of the state’s economic growth.

Emphasising balanced regional development, MSME expansion and large-scale job creation, the Chief Minister said the state’s industrial strategy aims to ensure that employment opportunities reach local youth, reducing distress migration.

Major Investment Commitments

Enterprise Odisha 2026 emerged as a significant platform for industrial commitments, securing ₹52,026 crore in investment intent through 22 Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) and five investment proposals.

Projects worth ₹8,884 crore were dedicated to the nation during the event. These included:

  • 11 inaugurated projects with an investment of ₹5,708 crore, expected to generate 4,183 jobs

  • Nine grounded projects involving ₹3,176 crore, with 2,649 jobs

Overall, the new investment commitments are projected to create over 20,427 employment opportunities, while the projects launched at the event will generate 6,832 direct jobs.

Land Allotment for Mega Industrial Project

A key highlight of the event was the formal handover of land to Vedanta Aluminium. The company received an official offer letter for 1,447.927 acres of land in Kamakhyanagar, Dhenkanal, for setting up a major aluminium smelter along with a 4,900 MW captive power plant, marking one of the largest industrial proposals in the region.

RRR Corridor Gains Focus

The Chief Minister also highlighted the strategic importance of the Raipur–Ranchi–Rourkela (RRR) Corridor, underlining its role in fostering inter-state industrial collaboration and positioning Western Odisha as a key manufacturing and logistics hub.

MSME-Centric Growth Vision

Addressing more than 500 industry leaders, including representatives from Tata Steel, JSW and SAIL, CM Majhi outlined the government’s MSME-led growth strategy.

“Our strategy is clear—establish a few anchor industries in every region and develop hundreds of MSMEs around them as suppliers, vendors and technology partners. This will ensure that our youth no longer need to migrate for jobs; opportunities will come to their doorstep,” he said.

The Silver Jubilee edition of Enterprise Odisha carried the theme “Odisha: Best Place to Live, Work and Do Business,” reinforcing the state government’s commitment to building a ‘Samruddha Odisha’ by 2036 through sustainable, inclusive and employment-led industrial growth.
