Bhubaneswar: In order to protect the livelihood of one lakh dairy farmers of the state during Covid, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has sanctioned Special Covid assistance of Rs. 11 crore to provide upto Rs. 6,000 to each farmer.
As part of this assistance, 3700 Milk Producers Societies have been covered including 1.05 Lakh women farmers of 1292 Cooperative societies through OMFED in the state. Milk production has increased three times and reached at 24 Lakh MT with the dedicated effort of dairy farmers.
