Bhubaneswar: The Central University of Odisha (CUO) and the Odisha University of Agriculture and Technology (OUAT) have signed a three-year Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen collaboration in agricultural research, education and extension activities.
The agreement aims to promote the exchange of students, scientists and faculty members, along with sharing research methodologies, technologies and scientific literature between the two institutions. Through this partnership, both universities seek to enhance academic cooperation and build stronger linkages between research and field-level application.
Officials said the collaboration will help improve scientific understanding and practical skills in agriculture, enabling the development and dissemination of innovative farming practices. The initiative is expected to directly benefit farmers by supporting productivity, sustainability and income generation.
The MoU also aligns with the broader goal of contributing to Odisha’s agricultural growth and rural economic development by leveraging institutional expertise and research capabilities.
University authorities from both CUO and OUAT expressed confidence that the partnership would create meaningful academic and research outcomes while fostering a skilled agricultural workforce for the state.
