Delhi Blast Probe Uncovers ‘White-Collar Terror’ Module Led by Doctors

Bhubaneswar: : In a shocking revelation, security agencies have unearthed a ‘white-collar terror’ module linked to the recent Red Fort blast, involving five doctors who allegedly exploited their professional credibility to orchestrate the attack.

Investigators have identified the key suspect as Dr. Umar Mohammad, a professor at Al-Falah Medical College in Faridabad and a native of Pulwama, who is believed to have masterminded the operation. CCTV footage reportedly shows him driving the Hyundai i20 that exploded near the Red Fort, killing 12 people and injuring several others. His mutilated body was later recovered from the blast site.

Sources said Dr. Umar personally designed the attack blueprint, while four others — Dr. Adil, Dr. Muzammil, Dr. Mayuddin, and Dr. Sahil — formed a tightly coordinated cell with suspected links to Pakistan’s ISI and Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM). The network reportedly operated across Kashmir, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, and Gujarat.

Raids conducted by the NIA and state police have led to the seizure of large quantities of explosives, rifles, and ammonium nitrate from their residences and vehicles.

Officials have described the case as a disturbing new face of terrorism — one that leverages education, credibility, and professional networks to evade scrutiny.

“This emerging ‘white-collar terror’ ecosystem is far more insidious,” a senior intelligence officer said. “Highly educated operatives blend seamlessly into society, making early detection extremely difficult.”

The probe is ongoing, with intelligence agencies focusing on uncovering cross-border funding and digital communication channels used by the group.
