Dengue Infection Aggravates in Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: Dengue  spreading day by day in Odisha. The number of Dengue patients detected have crossed two thousand. This infection has touched almost every district in the state. Moreover the number is the highest in the capital city Bhubaneswar followed by Sudergarh, Cuttack and Bolangir. Because of the rainy season it is suspected that the number of patients will increase. Every year from the month of July to September, the prevalence of dengue is seen. Bhubaneswar Niladrivihar has become the hot spot of dengue . Total of 15 localities have been declared as red zone. Everyday there are blood test been conducted in various hospitals and around 20 percent blood tests are detected as dengue patients. Union minister Juel Oram ‘s wife Jhhingia Oram has passed away suffering from dengue on last Saturday. The union minister also has been suffering from dengue. It is reported that Juel’s wife is the first dengue death of this year. After the death of union minister’s wife the health department has finally woken up. Two health teams have been formed by the health department to diagnose dengue on a serious manner. One team is supervising the residence of the monster whereas another team is supervising the hospital where the minister and his wife have been treated. Though it has been directed to all the private hospitals to notify the government regarding the treatment and diagnosis of the dengue patients in their hospitals but none of them are following the instructions. Now the health department has given warning to take action if not follow the directions. Politics has erupted in the matter after the death of the minister’s wife. Some political leaders are blaming the insensitivity of the BMC in this regard. Every year during the rainy seasons dengue disrupts the health of the people in Bhubaneswar. So it is an urgent need to create awareness among people on this.
