Bhubaneswar: Deputy CM Kana Vardhan Singh Deo inaugurated the Odisha Operative Arthroscopy Course (OOAC) 2025 which was conducted to highlight the growing impact of technology in modern healthcare facilities. “Our goal is to ensure that people do not have to travel to neighboring states for better healthcare. Speaking at the Odisha Operative Arthroscopy Course (OOAC) 2025, the Hon’ble Health Minister of Odisha shared a personal anecdote about his own experience with a sports injury in the late 1970s. He recounted how an initial medical opinion suggested surgery for his left knee pain, but a second opinion advised medication instead. Since then, he has managed his condition without surgery, reinforcing the importance of precise diagnosis and treatment.

The Minister emphasized the evolution of medical technology, particularly the role of telemedicine and technology-driven surgical advancements. He highlighted the Odisha government’s commitment to strengthening healthcare infrastructure, allocating budgetary resources for the recruitment of more doctors and the promotion of cutting-edge surgical and medical techniques.

The Odisha Operative Arthroscopy Course (OOAC) 2025 aims to be a landmark event, equipping medical professionals with advanced skills to improve surgical outcomes and patient experiences.

Dr. (Prof) Ranajit Panigrahi, Course Director, OOAC and Senior Orthopaedic Surgeon, Kalinga Hospital Ltd. said, “Sports injuries have long been a concern for athletes and sports enthusiasts, often forcing them to step away from their passion. However, with cutting-edge advancements in arthroscopic surgery, many sports professionals can now return to their previous levels of performance after injury. The benefits of such developments extend not only to our state’s sports fraternity but also to the general public who suffer from ligament injuries,” he adds.

OOAC 2025 is going to be leaving a strong impact on Odisha’s healthcare landscape with its focus on minimally invasive surgery and orthopedic innovation by strengthening Odisha’s commitment to medical excellence.
