Bhubaneswar: The Government of Odisha has officially notified on Wednesday on implementing the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 in the state. The notification was published by the Odisha School and Mass Education (S&ME) Department on Wednesday. The notification states, “After careful consideration, in the interest of strengthening the educational system in the state, the government is pleased to order that the National Education Policy 2020, as issued by the Ministry of Education (MoE), Government of India, will be implemented in the State of Odisha, and it further says that the National Curriculum Framework will be adopted in the state along with the NEP 2020.
“The government also notifies that the National Curriculum Framework, with local contextualization, will be adopted as the State Curriculum Framework for the State of Odisha”.
This order was passed in November last year by the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) stating the state government has developed a state-level credit framework on the basis of guidelines issued by the University Grants Commission of Odisha on (UGC) and the National Education Policy (NEP), 2020, will be put in to action in all state-run universities and affiliated colleges from the current academic year.
This framework will provide scope to the students for getting involved in various skill development, internship, community service and extracurricular activities, NCC and NSS to earn credits.
Especially , the NEP 2020 is believed to be bringing a huge transformation in the education system to make India a global knowledge superpower.
