Bhubaneswar: IMD has issued a yellow warning to several parts of Odisha for moderate rainfall, thunderstorm and lightning. The Bhubaneswar Regional Centre of IMD predicted a possible hailstorm in seven districts- Sundergarh, Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Balangir, Kandhamal, and Kalahandi.
This warning will be valid for February 4 and 5 of February. Dense fog is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Gajapati, Ganjam, Khurda, Puri, Nayagarh and Kandhamal in the next 24 hours,” said IMD.
Apart from thunderstorms and lightning alerts, the IMD’s Regional Centre in Bhubaneswar also predicted hailstorms in seven districts- Sundergarh, Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Jajpur, Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj.
As per the IMD prediction, cold waves in the state will be falling as the minimum temperature at night is likely to increase by 3 to 5 degrees Celsius for the next 3 to 4 days.
According to the forecast, dry weather is most likely to prevail over the districts of Odisha on the 3rd and 4 th of February. Dense fog is very likely to cover at a few places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Gajapati, Ganjam, Khordha, Puri, Nayagarh and
Kandhamal. Hailstorm is more likely to happen in a couple of places over the districts of Sundargarh, Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Jajpur, Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj.
