IAF’s Tejas Fighter Jet Crashes at Dubai Air Show; Wing Commander Namansh Syal Loses His Life

Bhubaneswar: In a tragic incident on Friday, an Indian Air Force Tejas fighter aircraft crashed during a performance at the Dubai Air Show, leading to the death of Wing Commander Namansh Syal, the pilot on board.

Hailing from Himachal Pradesh, Wing Commander Sayd was a highly skilled officer and among the select few entrusted with demonstrating India’s indigenous fighter jet on an international stage.

His mortal remains, wrapped in the tricolour, were brought back to his hometown, where hundreds of villagers, family members, and fellow servicemen gathered with tearful eyes to bid him a final farewell. His coffin was carried with full military honours, reflecting the nation’s gratitude and pride.

His wife, also a Wing Commander in the Indian Air Force, stood beside the coffin — silent, strong, yet carrying the immense weight of grief and pride.

His father, an Army veteran, expressed heartbreaking words:
“This is not just a personal loss, but a loss for the entire nation.”

The crash has sparked shock across the country, with tributes pouring in for the brave officer whose dedication and service embodied the highest values of the Indian defence forces.
