April 25th 2024, Kolkata The 3rd day of the career conclave of ‘Future Vista- The New Age Careers’ 2024, witnessed the presence of dignitaries from the fields of technology and allied health.
The first panel in the morning was on the future of data science. Mr. Debojit Das (Assistant Consultant, TCS), Mr. Nabarun Shekhar Sarkar (Technical Lead, TCS) and Mr. Sankhadip Roy (Cloud Expert) joined as the esteemed panelists for the session.
Mr. Debojit Das emphasized the symbiotic relationship between humans and artificial intelligence, stating, “Artificial Intelligence exists because of humans and not the other way round”. Mr. Sankhadip Roy discussed the pivotal role of humans in dictating the trajectory of AI, asserting, “Without humans, AI will be of no use”. Mr. Nabarun Shekhar Sarkar advocated for lifelong learning, encouraging individuals to utilize resources like YouTube for continuous skill development. He advised, “Rely on YouTube and learn from there”.
The second panel on Cyber Security had dignitaries like Dr. Kakali Gupta (HOD, Dept of MBA, Swami Vivekananda Institute of Management and Computer Science), Mr. Shubhro Datta (Deputy Commissioner of Revenue, Govt of West Bengal), Mr. Prosun Prodhan (Officer, WEBEL).
Dr. Kakali Gupta talked about, “how after 5 to 10 years there will be only digital banks, no brick and mortar.” Mr. Shubhro Datta spoke on “why do we need digital data protection in India.” Mr. Prosun Prodhan explained how one “has to use LINUX if you want to do hands on practice on cyber security.”
Thie third panel on allied health was based on creating future healthcare leaders. It consisted of Mr. Pabitra Ghosh (Critical Care Technologist), Mr. Sreejit Sarkar (Regional Training Manager, Lenskart Academy), Mr. Abhishek Thakur (Vice Principal, College of Paramedics, Charnock Healthcare Institute), Prof. Krishnajyoti Goswami (GM, Quality Assurance & Accreditation, North City Hospital Group) and Mr. Samrat Sanyal (Group Head, Quality, ILS Hospitals).
Mr. Pabitra Ghosh discussed about the important of knowledge and skill in the sector. Mr. Sreejit Sarkar enlightened students about the scope in optometry. “Wherever there’s optics, there is optometry,” he said. Mr. Abhishek Thakur discussed about the various courses and career options in the allied health sector. Prof. Krishnajyoti Goswami suggested students to start career in a hospital with accreditation. Mr. Samrat Sanyal stressed on the importance of “focusing on quality assurance.”
