India Launches Oil Exploration Process at Home

Bhubaneswar: Oil is considered as a bad habit in the minds of health consciousness, good lifestyle. The nutrition experts suggest to avoid it but it is hard to kick out of your life. For India oil has become a national security challenge. Our country never had enough crude reserve so we import it from other counties. Our import depends on the state of the world, wars, tariffs, policy, piracy and so on. All these factors have shaped India’s energy security.

The government of India has launched an ambitious mission which indicate to end our foerign alliances and becomes energy independent by 2047. India’s Petroleum minister Hardeep Singh Puri has said to the Firstpost, He is speeding up the oil exploration process by finding oil and gas reserves within India. Certain areas have already been identifies and the next step would be giving out contracts. Private and state farms are free to put in their bids. The highest bidder will get the exploration rights. As yet, nine rounds have been completed. The last contract was executed in April, 2025. Around 1.36 lakh sq. k.m. areas have been identified. Whoever wins the contract will be qualified to drill the area.

The tenth round has also been announced and this will cover the areas about 2.5 lakhs sq. k.m. making it one of the largest exploration projects across all over the world. Some of these projects are offshore which means the exploration will occur at the sea. The minster states, India is close to a major discovery. For example, the Andaman Sea which could hold 1.8 trillion liters of oil. If this comes as a fact, it will become a major success story.
