Bhubaneswar: Iran threatens to the world for closing down the Strait of Hormuz after the B2 bomb
strikes of America. This is an economic retaliation from Iran that America has attacked in the nuclear installations, military assets of their country so it would threat the globe by stopping the route of oil transport through the strait of Hormuz.
Reportedly, America is asking China to intervene and urge Iran not to close the Strait of Hormuz. If Iran takes step in terms of retaliation, it would be a suicidal action for them because most the oils are transported through that route goes to their own country. Their economy will be most affected by this as per Marcos Rubio of America.
The question is whether Iran has the naval efficiency and naval fire power to face America in the sea because if it takes this step America is going to attacks the through the naval attack. American assets and navy is spread all over the sea route bordering Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Yemen, Oman. The Americans would blow the Iranian vessels if there is any occurence.
Another pertinent point here, Iran doesn’t sell its own oil through this route as it has sanctions from 1979. China mostly purchases oil from Iran with a discounted price. Iran smuggles some of its oils to Pakistan. So we can think why is Iran stopping the route for Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Yemen, UAE, Bahrein. Because all the above countries have military bases of America including the whole of Iraq.
So if the oil transport is stopped all the major buyers of oil will suffer including India.
The land route transport oil is possible but it is very expensive. As per Iranian strategy all these countries would put pressure on Israel to stop attacking Iran when their business gets impacted. Iran also eyes support from India and China because these two Asian big powers happen to be the major importers of oils from these countries.
