Media and Entertainment Symposium By ICC

Bhubaneswar: ICC Media and Entertainment Symposium was held in Bhubaneswar today. Deputy Chief Minister,Minister for Women and Child Development, Tourism, Mission Shakti Smt Pravati Parida was the chief guest on this occasion and said that Now is the time of AI. Media has played a special role in determining the image of any individual in the current situation. Media has reached the people in every village. For which women have got information about Subhadra Yojana in every house. Media should always play its role in the form of information. Media should keep an eye on the wrongs and good deeds of the government. Through which the government can correct the wrongs and promote them.

Similarly, the problems of the people should come to the public. As a result, the government will also take notice. There is immense potential and infrastructure in the tourism sector in our Odisha. New programs will be taken in the coming days for its development. Similarly, OTT, music, films are growing rapidly. We will try to fulfill the cooperation that is needed in the coming days. Ranjith Chakkatha, CEO, Ninja Media, was the guest of honor and highlighted the important role that media has played in the current situation. Rajiv S. Sahoo (Chairman, ICC, Odisha State Council) in his welcome address said that the media and entertainment sector in India is undergoing rapid transformation. It is estimated to grow by 7.2% to Rs 2.7 trillion ($ 31.6 billion) by 2025 and further to Rs 3.1 trillion ($ 36.1 billion) by 2027. This growth is driven by digital innovation, content diversity and the growing power of regional storytelling. As one of the six classical languages of India, Odia language carries a deep artistic heritage. Which continues to inspire today’s creators.

The Odia film industry has faced challenges ranging from lack of infrastructure to limited policy implementation. But recent successes like film Daman, Pratikhya and Pushkara have shown a promising cultural resurgence. Odisha’s creative heritage also resonates through its vibrant music industry, which continues to blend classical roots with contemporary soundscapes. The first Odia colour film, Gaap Hele Bi Sata, released in 1976 marked a cinematic milestone. Just as the advent of OTT platforms in recent years has reshaped content creation, accessibility and audience engagement. Bibhabari Rath (Convenor, ICC, Media and Entertainment Committee) said, “Our aim is to promote leadership.

To support and connect creative, media and entertainment entrepreneurs across all media print, TV and digital, OTT platforms, new age filmmakers, media startups, studios, sponsors, distributors, artists and technicians. We want to create a sustainable ecosystem that will support media and entertainment industry stakeholders through business development, mentorship, education, networking and collaboration. Promotion of state media and entertainment industry, collaboration with the industries department, development of infrastructure like film cities and cultural centres. The main objective of this committee is to create international film festivals and film markets. ICC Vice President Nilanjana Mukherjee proposed the vote of thanks while Regional Director JP Pal was present.

The second phase of the event was graced by the presence of guests including Odisha Live Founder and CEO Nilambar Rath, Actor Sukant Rath, OTT platform Kanchalanka Co-Founder Chittaranjan Nayak, Prelude Novel Ventures Founder Satyabrat Sanu Ratho, Birla Global University Professor Gyan Ranjan Mishra, and ICC Media and Entertainment Committee Advisor Brad Mishra.
