Rajgangpur, September 20, 2017: OCL India Ltd, the flagship associate company of Dalmia Cement Bharat Ltd and one of the fastest growing company of Eastern India today achieved an enormous support from the local population of Rajgangpur in Sundargarh district for its proposed new cement plant besides the existing integrated cement plant situated in the area. This public consent takes the Company a step closer to achieve the final Environmental Clearance and execute its capacity enhancement programme. The Company proposes to set up a new unit of 2.25 million tonne per annum (MTPA) cement manufacturing and 3 MTPA clinker manufacturing capacity. With this the company’s total capacity in Rajgangpur will propel to 6.25 MTPA cement and 5.9 MTPA clinker manufacturing. OCL India which is revered for its peripheral development of Rajgangpur and multiple deeper pockets of Odisha and East at large, now promises to generate further direct and indirect employment opportunities in and around the plant location, through this expansion programme.

Thus our plan to add fresh capacity through our new unit in Rajgangpur is a careful approach to be ready to cater to this growing demand. The public hearing today witnessed a massive turnout of people and public leaders avowing consensus to the expansion plan. The Public Hearing took place today under the guidance of Sri. Bhaskar Chandra Turuk, Additional District Magistrate, Sundargarh and Sri. Hemendra Nath Naik, Regional Officer, Odisha State Pollution Control Board, Rourkela and joined by many other noted public figures. The public expressed confidence in the fact that the Company will comply to all measures and monitoring mechanism as prescribed by State Pollution Control Board, Odisha with the plant operating within the permissible limits of given pollution parameters.
OCL India has remained committed over the years for developing Rajgangpur and many other regions in Odisha. It has created mammoth direct and indirect job opportunities in the past for the local communities. Currentlythe company is engaged in enhancing employability of local youth of Rajgangpur and making the women of the region economically independent by augmenting their skills through various training programmes conducted in association with Dalmia Industrial Training Institute and Dalmia Bharat Foundations’ skill development centre in Rourkela. Recently it has also committed to provide two specialist doctors to the recently inaugurated Mother and Child Care Center at the local hospital in Rajgangpur and refurbished a market place in coordination with the local municipality. It is noteworthy to mention here that OCL India has also taken up a mission to render Sundargarh a blind free district.OCL in partnership with LVPEI has started ‘OCL Eye Centre’. Over 45,000 patients have been treated in the past two years with more than 3,000 free cataract operations so far.
