Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Higher Education Department has decided to advance the admission and academic calendar for undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) courses for the 2026–27 session to ensure timely commencement of classes and examinations.
According to officials, the registration process for UG and PG admissions will begin early, with classroom teaching scheduled to start on July 10. The academic year will conclude with examinations by April 30, and results are expected to be declared by June 1.
The admissions will be conducted through the Student Academic Management System (SAMS) portal, which aims to make the process more transparent, efficient, and student-friendly.
The move is intended to reduce academic delays, improve planning for universities and colleges, and align Odisha’s academic calendar with national standards.
