Odisha Industry Conclave 2025 Focuses on MSME Innovation, CM Majhi Inaugurates Key Sector Initiatives

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Industry Conclave 2025 kicked off on Sunday with a strong emphasis on accelerating innovation and growth in the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) sector. Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi inaugurated the MSME pavilion, calling the sector “the backbone of a developed Odisha and a key driver of Eastern India’s industrial future.”

Speaking at the event, Majhi said Odisha has rapidly emerged as one of the most attractive states for MSMEs due to its rich talent base, entrepreneurial potential, and favourable industrial ecosystem. “Our state is full of talent and possibilities. Odisha offers immense scope for industries to flourish. Vikshit Bharat, Bikshit Odisha is not just a slogan but a commitment to our people,” he said.

In a significant announcement, Laghu Udyog Bharati revealed plans to set up its office in Bhubaneswar to strengthen collaboration between industries and the government at the grassroots and district levels. Officials said the move would help streamline industrial support systems and improve outreach for MSME entrepreneurs.

Majhi also highlighted Odisha’s rising global presence through its creative and technology hubs. “Raghurajpur, Sambalpur and Gopalpur are now globally recognised for their achievements in IT, animation, fintech, and startups,” he noted.

Women-led Self-Help Groups were also praised for their expanding economic participation. Through initiatives like the Subhadra Yojana and the Lakhpati Didi scheme, SHG members have been producing world-class products and reinforcing Odisha’s grassroots industrial strength.

MSME Minister Gokulananda Mallik reaffirmed the state’s commitment to inclusive growth. “Odisha is on a fast track of development. We are promoting indigenous products, strengthening MSMEs, supporting artisans, and building a robust local supply chain. These efforts will transform Odisha’s industrial landscape in the years ahead,” he said.

The conclave is expected to witness multiple policy discussions, investment announcements, and B2B engagements as Odisha positions itself to become the MSME gateway of Eastern India.
