Bhubaneswar: A controversy has surfaced during Odisha’s ongoing Matriculation examinations after a handwritten question-and-answer sheet — purportedly containing answers to the Social Science paper — began circulating on social media in parts of Western Odisha.
The viral content has raised serious concerns among students, parents, and education observers, prompting calls for an immediate inquiry into the integrity of the examination process. However, several critical aspects remain unclear. It is yet to be established whether the document was circulated before candidates entered examination halls or during exam hours. The authenticity of the sheet has also not been independently verified, and no confirmed source has been identified so far.
Parents have demanded a comprehensive probe, urging authorities to strengthen surveillance mechanisms at examination centres to prevent any potential malpractice.
Meanwhile, Bargarh District Education Officer Jyotikant Sahu has denied any irregularities. He stated that no complaints were received from examination centres in Bargarh district and maintained that the exams were conducted smoothly. He also noted that the previous day had been a holiday, adding uncertainty to the timeline of the viral claim.
Authorities are currently assessing the situation. Until an official investigation is completed, the authenticity and origin of the circulating sheet remain unconfirmed.
