Bhubaneswar: The State Government has released a list of guidelines to be followed in the Republic Day celebration. These guidelines have been framed by the State Election Commission for the celebration of Republic Day considering the upcoming panchayat election in Odisha.
The State Election Commission jas declared that, though the three-tier Panchayat election is approaching and scheduled for February this year, the speeches of the Chief Minister of the state and other cabinet ministers at the occasion of the Republic Day celebration will be restricted to the Nation, freedom fighters, and Martyrs. No form of political, departmental, Governance related programmes and schemes should be mentioned by any of the speakers during the Republic Day celebrations.
Furthermore, no Ministers, as well as political workers, are allowed to participate in the Republic Day celebrations in their respective districts as guests. At the same time, the SEC has permitted all the State-level award ceremonies to be conducted as it occurs every year.
Moreover the government of Odisha has earlier published certain instructions for the general public with regard to a smooth celebration of Republic Day in the state. As per the notification, only police officials will be participating in the Republic Day ceremony in all the districts. Common people, students and NCC cadets will not be permitted to take part in the ceremony.
