Bhubaneswar: The total No of Swine flu cases in teh State increased to 46. Out of 29 swabs, twelve swab sample tested positive of swine flu on Monday. Of those tested positive five are male and seven are female from four districts across Odisha. Eight among the persons affected with the H1N1 virus belong to Khurda, two are from Cuttack and one each from Sambalpur and Sundergarh district.
The samples were tested at seven hospitals in the twin city. While four samples were tested at Kalinga Hospital, one each at Kalinga Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS), Apollo Hospital and Care Hospital, two each at Kar Clinic and AMRI Hospital in Bhubaneswar, one sample was tested at Rohini Hospital in Cuttack.
Earlier on August 6, the State government had directed government as well as privately-run hospitals to keep special ward ready to treat persons affected with the H1N1 virus.
The Public Health department had issued special advisory to 15 privately-run hospitals asking them to set up separate screening facility or isolation wards with ventilator support for H1N1 cases. The facility should be manned by trained staff with proper infection control precaution, the directive added.
