Bhubaneswar: Life has a plethora of opportunities. Each opportunity tends you to either success or failure. It depends on a person how long he/she wants to undertake the journey. One should love every opportunity and every aspect of the journey that comes with life. Gender should not be included in it as a point of divider or discriminator. Every individual is the same when it comes to achievement, success, opportunities and skill development.
Smriti Irani said at the Times Now Summit that India is creating alliances in the international forum with about ten thousand international companies, in a network partnership with the World Economic Forum, ensuring the Confederation of the Indian Industries (CII) which is a group of 435,000 Indian companies for a greater economic growth. In terms of gender equity, India will create its first secretariat within our country, within our own industry bodies which has been done successfully in the last one year. The templates India follows about women and enterprise bodies, found a resonance with the commonwealth nations. So about 56 countries try to emulate India with regard to gender justice, providing opportunities for women in businesses. India is growing and also creating paths for others for global good.
As the government of India is prioritizing the empowerment and equity of women in every field in general and economy in particular we should not confine the women within the framework of pleasing, pleading, secondary or victimized way of judging the women or talking about women. The new reality is that the world is confronted with the disruption of technology, where about 70 percent of the jobs the women hold will be obsoleted when automation sets in. In India, the government is planning to reach out to 300 most populous cities in the country to reach out to one lakh women owned businesses that have not had the capacity to cross one crore threshold. It will reach them with banks, insurance companies, knowledge base, certification, compliance , and get connected with the global supply chain for better results. At the same time, two thousand international companies that have an annual consumption and expenditure power of 4 trillion dollars will teach these women entrepreneurs to become a part of the global supply chain. One of the major challenges women entrepreneurs, especially those who have worked in SHGs, SMEs and FPOs face is language barriers. There will be skill givers who will certify the English language skill for these women. The women entrepreneurs in the smallest towns or cities in the country will be getting humongous support from these programs.
