Bhubaneswar: According to sources from State Health and Family Welfare Department, the pregnant women in Bhubaneswar will get the vaccine twice a week. The vaccination drive for pregnant women will be conducted at the Capital Hospital and all government UPHCs/UCHCs on every Wednesday and Saturday in a week between 11 am to 1 pm. Similar procedure as others is to be followed for the expectant mothers as well such as producing proper documents for their identification.
Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) tweeted that the pregnant women can take the jab at any Public Health Center by walking in as per the scheduled time and date.
Odisha government and Department od Health and Family Welfare has given an affirmation with regard to the Covid-19 vaccines being safe for pregnant women and the lactating mothers. Based on that notification a special vaccination drive will be carried out as per the issued guidelines.
There are some special provisions made for the expectant women and lactating mothers. They will be oriented and informed be the frontline workers, such as ASHA, Anganwadi workers. These health workers have been given special training for this vaccination drive. Facilities such as setting up of dedicated waiting rooms, no prier slot booking is required for the women etc have been arranged. The Health Department is going to observe keenly if there is any post vaccination impact on the expectant women and lactating mothers.
