Bhubaneswar: In the upcoming assembly elections in Bihar will see a turning point with this current turmoil of the new Waqf bill passed in the parliament. The heated arguments, face offs between opposition and BJP over the bill is indicative of the fact that the forthcoming government in Bihar is going to be formed over this issue. The prominent factor behind this would be Nitish Kumar supporting the new Waqf bill.
The old RJD supporter tweeted that Nitish Kumar is not a muslim supporter but he is a certified RSS leader. The tweet further mentioned Nitish as ‘Cheatish’. He is cheating the muslims.
This time Bihar will choose its government based on this Waqf bill, whether from the supporters side or the opposing side would have to be seen. Bihar is the state where caste politics is rampant. People vote on the basis of caste and leaders do caste politics openly. But this time there will be a Waqf government, Waqf will choose the government. The election in Bihar will be on the basis of religion, Hindu and Muslim.
Waqf bill 2025 has been passed in both the houses of the parliament. The most crucial point goes to the coming Bihar elections and the future of Nitish Kumar. The government at the center has brought these major changes in Waqf just before the Bihar election is going to have a tremendous impact in the government formation in the state. Because Nitish Kumar, Chirag Paswan and Jitan Ram Manjhi have unanimously supported the new Waqf bill.
Knowing the ever confusing and flip temperament of Nitish Kumar in politics, the question arises in the minds of the Muslim voters of Bihar that whether he has flip his side or it is his strategy. The leader whose ideology was known to be secular, has become a hard core BJP supporter. Many party leaders like Afzal Abbas, Mohmmad Nawaz Malik, Qasim Ansari, Mohammad Tabrez from RJD have resigned from the party due to this move. The impact on JDU seems strong mainly because of the upcoming elections in Bihar. The muslim political leaders in Bihar and from the JDU think the muslim voters might dissociate from Nitish Kumar.
The question arises whether it is a planned strategy by Nitish Kumar to appease the Hindu voters. The caste politics in Bihar is highly prominent but if there will be religious appeasement BJP will mark its path. Every party in Bihar is putting its best efforts to please the muslim voters. BJP is claiming the new Waqf bill to be beneficial for the Pasmanda muslims, the marginalized muslim community. Tejaswi Yadav is doing Iftar by sloganeering inshallah. Congress demands to be the biggest problem – muslim party. Prashat Kishore is trying to be a masiha for muslim community. Amid all these, is this the biggest strategy of Nitish Kumar to play a bigger game in the coming assembly elections in Bihar.
