Bhubaneswar, Aug. 1: IIT Bhubaneswar has achieved its highest-ever campus placement performance, with more than 500 students securing job offers during the 2025–26 placement season, the institute announced on Saturday.
The placement drive, which commenced in October 2025 and concluded in July 2026, witnessed participation from leading public and private sector organisations across software, information technology, consulting, manufacturing, oil and gas, semiconductors, fintech and several other sectors.
Top recruiters included Google, Microsoft, NVIDIA, Reliance Industries, D. E. Shaw, Accenture, Zomato, Cisco, Samsung R&D, Tata Steel, Larsen & Toubro (L&T), Maruti Suzuki, Infosys, Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (BPCL), Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd (HPCL), Bharat Electronics Ltd (BEL) and Engineers India Ltd (EIL), among others.
According to the institute, more than 85 per cent of undergraduate students and 71 per cent of postgraduate students secured placements. The median annual salary stood at ₹15.3 lakh for undergraduate students and ₹11.2 lakh for postgraduate students. The placement season also witnessed several international job offers.
IIT Bhubaneswar Director Prof. Shreepad Karmalkar attributed the record performance to the institute’s emphasis on academic excellence, research-driven education and strong industry partnerships, which have enhanced students’ employability across diverse sectors.
The achievement marks a significant milestone for the institute and reflects the growing confidence of leading recruiters in IIT Bhubaneswar’s academic programmes and talent pool.
