Bhubaneswar: The government has welcomed the decision announced by the CJP to call off its protest scheduled for Saturday, following assurances from Union Minister JP Nadda regarding cases registered against protesting students.
Nadda assured that the cases filed against the protesting students would be withdrawn and that no harsh action would be taken against them in the future.
He said the Centre had also consulted with BJP-ruled state governments on the matter and was now fulfilling the assurance given to the students.
The Union Minister reiterated that the government’s top priority is the progress, development and future of the youth.
The development comes as a relief for students involved in the protests and is expected to ease tensions surrounding the issue.
