Bhubaneswar: Four-year-old Elena Mishra has created a remarkable milestone in chess by becoming the youngest female player to hold an official FIDE rating at the age of 4 years, 6 months and 16 days.
Elena achieved the feat with a Blitz rating of 1432 at the Odisha State Blitz FIDE Rating Open Chess Championship 2026, held in Bhubaneswar.
With this achievement, Elena has become the only female chess player born in 2022 or later to have an official FIDE rating, according to the details shared.
Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi congratulated the young chess talent on the achievement, praising her exceptional ability and determination.
The Chief Minister expressed hope that Elena’s remarkable journey will inspire more young chess players and budding talents across Odisha to pursue their dreams in the sport.
