Bhubaneswar: The Odisha State Cooperative Milk Producers’ Federation (OMFED) will increase its milk procurement price by ₹2 per litre from September 11, providing relief to dairy farmers facing rising production costs.
The decision was announced by Fisheries and Animal Resources Development Minister Gokulananda Mallick following demands from farmers affected by increased cattle feed and transportation costs.
OMFED currently procures around 7 lakh litres of milk every day from more than 3 lakh dairy farmers across Odisha. The federation is also working to expand the reach of its dairy products to markets outside the state, creating wider opportunities for Odisha’s dairy sector.
