Bhubaneswar: The Bhubaneswar Commissionerate Police has issued detailed guidelines for Ganesh Puja 2026, urging organisers and devotees to ensure a safe and peaceful celebration.
As per the guidelines, DJ music and crackers have been prohibited, while melody and cultural programmes will be permitted only until 10:00 pm.
Idol immersion will be conducted on September 16, 18 and 20. Processions have been advised to avoid peak traffic hours and national highways, with immersion allowed only at designated temporary ponds.
The police have also made elaborate security arrangements, including the deployment of additional police personnel and platoons, to maintain law and order and ensure an incident-free celebration.
Authorities have appealed to all puja committees and organisers to strictly follow the prescribed guidelines and cooperate with the police.
