Bhubaneswar: Gangster Hyder Alli Khan has been encounted and succumbs to bullet injuries by the Police near Simulia, Baripada district. He was being shifted to Baripada jail. He was attempting to flee from the clutch of the police while being taken to the Balesore hospital from the Choudwar mjail on 23 July.
Earlier this year, the gangster had escaped from SCB Medical, Cuttack during the period of his ongoing treatment in the hospital. He was remained underground in the Sangareddy district of Telengana from where he was again found and arrested by the Odisha police with the help of the Telengana police. Later he was kept in Choudwar jail as he was covid positive.
According to Pratik Singh, the DCP Cuttack district, gangster Hyder tried to snatch the revolver from the police official and trying to flee by threatening the on duty police officer who was accompanying him enroute Choudwar to Baripada. After a stern warning from the officer , he tried to attack the police and escape, as a result, in self defence the police officials had to shoot him.
Soumendra Priyadarsi, Police Commissioner said Hyder is being shifted to Balesore Government Hospital for treatment as he has been shot on his stomach in the encounter.
The notorious criminal was being escorted by a team of police officials, like one police inspector, SI, and a section armed force.
