Odisha Launches ‘Bidesh Sikhyabruti’ Scholarship for SC/ST Students

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Government has launched the ‘Bidesh Sikhyabruti’ scholarship under the Mukhyamantri Medhabi Chhatra Protsahan Yojana (MMCPY) to support Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) students pursuing postgraduate and PhD studies at foreign universities.

Under the scheme, selected students can receive financial assistance of up to ₹50 lakh per student. The support will cover expenses including tuition fees, living costs, travel and insurance.

The scholarship will be available for studies at top 200 QS-ranked foreign universities, with 50 students to be selected every year.

Applicants must be Odisha residents belonging to the SC or ST communities, with an annual family income of less than ₹12 lakh.

Applications can be submitted online through the OSS Portal from August 18 to August 31, 2026, for the 2025-26 and 2026-27 academic years.

The initiative aims to provide meritorious SC/ST students from Odisha with greater access to international higher education and advanced academic opportunities.
